Abstract

This article aims to find out the impact of gadget use on early childhood as well as implement solutions of the impact of gadget use on early childhood. Gadget is a medium that is used as a modern communication tool. Gadgets make human communication easier. Now communication activities have grown more advanced with the advent of gadgets. Among them are smartphones such as iphone, android, and notebook. In the psychology of early childhood development is said to be a child aged 0-6 years. The research method used is literature study. The results showed that gadgets have an impact on early childhood social development. Excessive use of gadgets will adversely affect the child's social and emotional development. The adverse effects of gadget use on children include privately closed, sleep disturbances, solitary, violent behavior, fading creativity, and cyberbullying threats. Solutions to the problem of using gadgets in early childhood by limiting the use of gadgets, supervising children in playing gadgets with parental figures that play a very important role and provide a timely schedule when children play gadgets, so that gadgets can not hinder the social development of early childhood.
