Abstract

Penitentiary is the final system of the criminal system in the criminal justice system carried out by the Penitentiary to carry out the guidance of the prisoners based on the system, institutions and methods of guidance. This writing aims: 1) To find out what patterns are applied in the process of coaching prisoners in the Class IIB Correctional Institution, Brebes Regency. 2) To find out the obstacles and solutions in the coaching process for inmates in the Class IIB Penitentiary in Brebes Regency. The method used in research by the author in compiling this writing is the sociological

juridical method, where the law is seen from the point of view of the application of life in the environment around the community with the intention of finding the facts that occur so that they can conclude the real problem and can find a way to solve these problems. The results of this study indicate that: The pattern of guidance for inmates in the Correctional Institution class IIB Brebes District uses a pattern of approach by providing useful activities, namely in the form of personality development and independence development. The obstacles in the implementation of training for prisoners in class IIB prisons in Brebes Regency are the lack of number of prison officers, over capacity, limited facilities / infrastructure, limited marketing of skills and prisoners who are not of good behavior. The solution to these obstacles is the division of security teams, building prisons or providing conditional release to prisoners, adding facilities and / or infrastructure that do not yet exist or are damaged. For example, building Residential / Block rooms, online marketing, and inmates who violate the rules will get phunishment in the form of being put in a quarantine cell, going around the residential block field and others.
